I have recently been reading the Complete Works of Pseudo-Dionysius and thought it would be useful to give a brief overview of who Pseudo-Dionysius was and what he wrote about. As Freemasons, his work is quite interesting and useful.

The series of posts on esoteric Freemasonry continues with a look at the meaning of true spiritual initiation and how the esoteric Freemason may view the degree work done within a physical lodge in relation to progression along the path.

In the last few entries of this blog I have discussed the basics of just what esoteric Freemasonry is and how one might begin to approach the study of it. Moving on from my last post however, there are some obvious further steps that can be taken - and the most obvious and readily accessible for all brethren is to be found in the many side degrees and appendant orders that exist within Freemasonry, particularly that of the Holy Royal Arch.

Since putting up my last blog post Esoteric Freemasory: An Introduction, I have had a few people contact me with various questions about how one can pursue such interests. I think what people are looking for are practical recommendations and advice as to how to start walking the path of esoteric Freemasonry. With this blog entry I am going to try and tackle this topic, how successful it will be I'm not too sure - but it's worth a shot!

As I mentioned previously, a significant proportion of my writings for this blog will be on the topic of esoteric Freemasonry in its various forms. So it makes sense then to begin with a quick overview of just what the term means and the various aspects of Freemasonry that it may encompass. I'm not going to get into too much detail here, not yet anyway, so consider this a quick primer for those who have not previously had much exposure to this concept.
