There are many Freemasons around the globe who have embraced the idea of internet communication through the creation of Masonic blogs; and with today's post I will be looking at a number of these sites to bring your attention to the best Masonic blogs that I feel the internet currently has to offer.

The Lost Symbol is released in less than a week now, and given Dan Brown's track record with 'secret' societies the chances are looking pretty high that Freemasonry is about to get accused of many different things in relation to the formation of the United States of America. Are we ready for this?

Dan Brown's new book is known to be about Freemasonry and its relationship to the United States, however a recent interview with Robert 'Bob' Cooper of the Grand Lodge of Scotland has indicated that the plot may revolve around the traitorous nature of George Washington and a cover-up orchestrated by his Masonic brethren.

Social network sites such as Facebook and MySpace have emerged as a new medium of communication that is both immensely popular and incredibly useful for our day-to-day modern lifestyles. Unsurprisingly, there are a number of sites promoted directly at Freemasons that are attempting to ride this wave of popularity for social networks. Some of these have proven to be more successful than others, and I will be giving an overview of four of the more predominant ones today.

Web 2.0 is well and truly entrenched within modern culture and social communication, but what then is Freemasonry as a whole doing to embrace this technological evolution? Is it taking advantage of this new user-centered experience that the web has become? Surely, as a fraternity, it should be well placed culturally to do just that...

The series of posts on esoteric Freemasonry continues with a look at the meaning of true spiritual initiation and how the esoteric Freemason may view the degree work done within a physical lodge in relation to progression along the path.

In the last few entries of this blog I have discussed the basics of just what esoteric Freemasonry is and how one might begin to approach the study of it. Moving on from my last post however, there are some obvious further steps that can be taken - and the most obvious and readily accessible for all brethren is to be found in the many side degrees and appendant orders that exist within Freemasonry, particularly that of the Holy Royal Arch.

With modern technology we are starting to see things emerge that were quite literally impossible until very recently. One such avenue, and something which always raises a lot of controversy, is the idea of virtual lodge rooms. In particular, I am going to look at a few examples of this in the virtual world called Second Life...

Since putting up my last blog post Esoteric Freemasory: An Introduction, I have had a few people contact me with various questions about how one can pursue such interests. I think what people are looking for are practical recommendations and advice as to how to start walking the path of esoteric Freemasonry. With this blog entry I am going to try and tackle this topic, how successful it will be I'm not too sure - but it's worth a shot!

As I mentioned previously, a significant proportion of my writings for this blog will be on the topic of esoteric Freemasonry in its various forms. So it makes sense then to begin with a quick overview of just what the term means and the various aspects of Freemasonry that it may encompass. I'm not going to get into too much detail here, not yet anyway, so consider this a quick primer for those who have not previously had much exposure to this concept.
